Our preschool/ kindergarden classroom transformed into a cozy ski lodge where children are learning through imaginative play. The children designed and created their own skis using craft materials, encouraging creativity and fine motor skills. During role play, they practiced real-life routines by showing their handmade ski passes in order to “ride” the lift before heading down the pretend slope.
The baby /toddler group also joined in the fun by creating their own little skiers using corks and coloured paper to make skis. This activity supported their creativity, sensory exploration, and fine motor development.
Through this theme, children are developing social skills (taking turns, following rules), early literacy (recognizing symbols on passes and signs), and problem-solving, all while having fun and staying actively engaged.
