Over the past few weeks, the Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears groups explored the exciting world of firefighting. Through a variety of hands-on activities, the children learned about the important role firefighters play in helping and protecting our communities.
At the sensory table, the children explored different materials and discovered some of the equipment used by firefighters. They also worked together to create their own cardboard fire truck, encouraging creativity and teamwork. Outdoor firefighting games gave the children the opportunity to stay active while experiencing some of the challenges firefighters face in a fun and age-appropriate way.
A special highlight was the visit to the Basel Professional Fire Department. The children enjoyed seeing the fire engines up close, learning about the firefighters’ daily work, and asking lots of curious questions.
The project brought the topic of firefighting to life and provided many memorable learning experiences. Our little firefighters had great fun exploring, creating, and discovering together.
